. Australian group Resin Dogs, who formed in 1996 have been .
. looking to branch out to an international audience since .
. 2004. Ready for a tour of the UK, including shows at .
. Fabric and the Rhythm Factory, they have released their .
. first UK single, Shes Gone on the Jalapeno Records label. .
. Label frontman (and Skeewiff member) Elliot Ireland .
. toured Australia with the group in 2004 and took notice .
. of the song in their live act. Released on vinyl .
. alongside remixes by Kraak & Smaak and Dutch Rhythm Combo .
. it is a soulful tune that takes the listener beachside .
. with its melody and sounds. .

. First up is the original Resin Dogs version. It has a .
. swirling sound and an emerging drumbeat with a smooth .
. female vocal that comes in alongside a breezy organ .
. sample. When the vocal hits in with show me the way you .
. feel swept off in the wind at the beach. The live drums .
. give the track a deeper feel that kicks you along. .
. Halfway through, after a respite, the drums kick in with .
. an added energy. One fan of the group didnÆt recognise .
. the song for the 4/4 beat theyve employed, rather than .
. rely on pure funk, this is more a song that is for .
. listening but theyve obviously got the skills to keep you .
. dancing. You can imagine arms flailing slowly about to .
. this one. .

. Kraak & Smaak have given the track their twist. The .
. originals organs and feel is there. The drums have been .
. replaced by a funkier beat. Bongoes and more electronic, .
. dubby sounds are brought out after the halfway mark. The .
. original shines through, but itÆs been given a big cup of .
. coffee while this version plays out. This track finally .
. ends with a Kruder & Dorfmeister feeling. .

. Lastly is the Dutch Rhythm Combos version, from German .
. label Pulver, this track begins with a house beat. After .
. hearing the first two versions youÆd almost be left .
. thinking Shes Gone was destined for a slower sound, but .
. the handclaps and cowbells in this mix, added to with the .
. synth melodies make for a smooth, summery house tune. .
. While not a song that will leave people studded to the .
. dancefloor, its a very pleasant track. .
