Release Notes:
The first HighTone release for The Bel Airs -- their
fourth since forming the band way back in 1981 -- is
a punchy little rockin blues affair that recalls
both classic electric blues artists as well '60s
R&B. The guitar slinger of the trio, David Pruitt --
brother Dick plays bass and Mike Cherry hits the
skins -- has been compared to guitarists such as
Freddie King, Hubert Sumlin, Elmore James and Johnny
'Guitar' Watson. Produced by Lou Whitney, who has
given their "sound" the proper edge afforded his
other retro-Americana touched projects - The
Morells, The Domino Kings, Brian Capps -- Got Love
offers an eclectic mix for a modern sensibility,
elevating what could be a tired routine into
something honest and exciting.
