After the international breakthrough success of their debut album
ôSattaö, Boozoo Bajou are shuffling back into the limelight with
their follow-up effort ôDust My Broomö (release date: 22 August
2005).
The laid-back nature of Boozoo BajouÆs music is also reflected in
their production approach û good things take time, and the group was
in no rush with their much-anticipated sophomore release. ôSattaö was
released in 2001 but ôDust My Broomö did not come out until 2005.
Still, for the grand, timeless sounds of Boozoo Bajou, this is by no
means a long stretch of time. And the results were most definitely
worth the wait.
The expression ôDust My Broomö stems from vocabulary of the blues.
One of its meanings is to make a clean break and start afresh. A
fitting album title, as the two Nuremberg producers (Peter Heiders
and Florian Seyberth) decided to release their second album not
through their long-time partner label Stereo Deluxe but through !K7
Records. More importantly, however, ôDust My Broomö signifies a new
chapter in the Boozoo Bajou sound. The album features considerably
more singing than its predecessor, and the renowned Boozoo serenity
has made way for some more varied, albeit relaxed grooves and feels û
without ever compromising the trademark Boozoo style. Doubtlessly,
ôDust My Broomö is a classic in the making, and a more than worthy
successor to the outstanding ôSattaö at that. This is one album that
will be played on heavy rotation in many places this Autumn and
Winter.
For their upcoming European tour in Autumn 2005 Boozoo Bajou will
receive funding from the ETS scheme.
