iLiKETRAiNS stand firmly and gloriously out of place
in country full of haircuts. More heart, dynamics
soul and adventure than the whole of the indie top 40
put togetherö - Drowned in Sound
while singer Dave delivers his baritone murder
ballads, the instruments cascade, explode and create
a genuinely uncomfortable atmosphere with their epic
post rock-isms - NME
iLiKETRAiNS are exponents of a slow-burning blend of
mournful guitar nostalgia and contemporary sonic
splendour. add grimy locomotive-related visuals and
authentic british rail uniforms circa 1974 and
prepare to be spellbound. - Fierce Panda
The Dance To The Radio label comes up with another
gem with the debut single from this Leeds band. An
epic and grand soundscape of a single that is split
in two parts over both sides of this 7". Building
from a funeral marching beat, the solemn and moody
vocals swoon effortlessly over a slow burning
post-rock backing that finally accelerates away into
an exploding whirlwind peak of crashing guitars,
drums and synths. For comparisons think of Joy
Division mixed with Sigur Ros and Godspeed. It's an
intense and atmospheric exprience and an incredibly
impressive debut single.
