▐█ There's no way around it... somewhere in this review I'm going █▌
▐█ to have to mention THE POSTAL SERVICE. So anyway, Denver's █▌
▐█ BLUSOM is a two man gig that arranges lush, but lo-fi indie pop █▌
▐█ with minor bits of electronica and extensive analog █▌
▐█ manipulations. The occasional dance beat is no stranger to The █▌
▐█ Metapolitan, but it's more or less like the singularity of a █▌
▐█ wandering town drunk compared to the more subdued offerings that █▌
▐█ permeate the soundscapes. If I was taking a semi-awake nap under █▌
▐█ a tree by an ambling brook, I am sure that BLUSOM would help █▌
▐█ lull me into a solid sleep, as the ambiance on The Metapolitan █▌
▐█ is very hypnotic, though far from continuous. Compact lyrics █▌
▐█ filter through a majority of the tracks, much of them posed in █▌
▐█ abstract question form. An emphasis is placed on the value of █▌
▐█ time spent - why do we do the things we seem predisposed to do? █▌
▐█ How can we release ourselves from the things we've done for so █▌
▐█ long without discussing them? Beautiful packaging ties together █▌
▐█ the natural aesthetic that BLUSOM indulges upon - thick paper █▌
▐█ stock gives the booklet a distinct crispness, and the █▌
▐█ accompanying illustrations appropriately capture the group's █▌
▐█ frame of reference. The Metapolitan is definitely a cool release █▌
▐█ to listen to when you feel like disengaging from everything that █▌
▐█ society has to offer... █▌
