so it turns out that the myserious "arp she said" promo 12" was
actually the work of hans-peter lindstrom after all! now unveiled
as six cups of rebel on feedelity, lindstrom delivers four
stunning tracks of lowdown beats-per-minute 4/4.
"gentle as a giant" starts things off with an unnerving house
thump enlightened only by the odd percussion hint and solo bongo
hits, before some abstract guitar picks up the theme.
the even slower "temperet" gets a collective of percussionists to
play along with honking analogue synths, fizzing whistles, whining
keys and one some more signature lindstrom fretwork.
the title track "arp she said" is clearly the champion of the lot
whether it was influenced by the "thimm thaler" score or not, it's
still an epic progressive balearic soundtrack with cascading
arpeggios and a mid-80s ibizian heartbeat.
last but certainly not least is "kontroll" which nods along at a
similar tempo but with a more overt electronic disco make-up. just
another godlike record out of norway then.
