JCE released the original pressing but now out of
print they have released a reprint of the CD with
some bonus tracks unleashing two producers who
will be handling some of the board duties in the
future. Q-Tones, London based producer who is
working with Masta Ace, Oktober, Sean Price and
many more as well as DJ B-Roc from Boston best
known for his work with the Diplomats; he's also
working with many other high profile American
artists and is Krumbsnatcha's official tour DJ.
Lowkey Key to the Game vol. 2 LP
Lowkey comes correct. He destroys the game, not
just unlocks the game on this release. After a
wicked start-up on ôKey to the Game vol. 1ö he
gives us a CD of original beats from the likes of
Sivey, Nutty P, Caramac and DJ Snips amongst
others. It contains both mixes of the sublime
ôPolitics,ö one of the most intelligent tracks of
last year, as well as the flip of it featuring
Yungun. An impressive listen, especially from
someone so young. He sounds wise on each track
and his wordplay is beyond incredible. This is a
serious youth to watch out for. ôPerspectiveö and
ôStory to Tell 2ö also showcase his political
polemic and intricacy with words and rhyme
structures. ThereÆs big-ups from Pharoahe Monche
(an honour indeed), Insight, the Alchemist and
Fusion as well as a heavy freestyle from
SkinnyMan that serves as the intro to ôPolitics.ö
This boy is on fire and his stature can only grow
in the next few months. He needs to get on vinyl
and get into more clubs. ThereÆs great rhyming
with Reveal from Poisonous Poets on ôClash of the
Titansö and ôVoices In My Headö sets off a great
atmosphere about peer pressure and self-doubt.
This boy knows how to rhyme. This is a record
that people will remember as special in years to
come. By that time, Lowkey will be in the
stratosphere.
