▓█░ series of electronic tracks. I ░█▓
▓█░ love the latter tracks as they ░█▓
▓█░ remind me of Icicle Works and ░█▓
▓█░ other Ian McNabb solo albums, ░█▓
▓█░ notably the one with Crazy ░█▓
▓█░ Horses, without it being too ░█▓
▓█░ ærowdyÆ. ░█▓

▓█░ This are gorgeous as we would ░█▓
▓█░ expect from this talented artist. ░█▓
▓█░ There is a feeling of Jacques ░█▓
▓█░ Brel infusing the title track ░█▓
▓█░ with 60s melodrama. The piano and ░█▓
▓█░ cello underline this to great ░█▓
▓█░ effect. You want to sit back and ░█▓
▓█░ enjoy these songs in your living ░█▓
▓█░ room. A little country in Western ░█▓
▓█░ Eyes raise the sing-along ░█▓
▓█░ character of these songs, but ░█▓
▓█░ generally none of these songs ░█▓
▓█░ would make me want to join ░█▓
▓█░ thousands of fans in a sweaty ░█▓
▓█░ venue (sorry Ian!). ░█▓

▓█░ Fifth song into this album The ░█▓
▓█░ Lonely Ones (1) suddenly uses ░█▓
▓█░ vocoder to better effect than ░█▓
▓█░ most, reminding me of the French ░█▓
▓█░ duo Daft Punk, we are moving away ░█▓
▓█░ û slightly û from the acoustic ░█▓
▓█░ side. The Heartless Mare pulls us ░█▓
▓█░ back a bit, with a poppy Finally ░█▓
▓█░ Getting Over You and the first ░█▓
▓█░ single release Let The Young Girl ░█▓
▓█░ Do What She Wants ToÆs trumpets ░█▓
▓█░ and æmodernÆ drum patterns change ░█▓
▓█░ the mood. Ian has us finally ░█▓
▓█░ bopping away making plans for ░█▓
▓█░ barbeques and family outings to ░█▓
▓█░ country parks. He has arrived ░█▓
▓█░ with the part of the album that I ░█▓
▓█░ love! ░█▓

▓█░ The Nicest Kind Of Lie has the ░█▓
▓█░ grungy guitar in the back ░█▓
▓█░ reminding us of his love for Neil ░█▓
▓█░ Young and slowly this song works ░█▓
▓█░ its way up to a near climax. He ░█▓
▓█░ keeps it cool until Lovers At The ░█▓
▓█░ End Of Time opens up with ░█▓
▓█░ something that sounds like an ░█▓
▓█░ outtake from the Crazy HorsesÆ ░█▓
▓█░ sessions. Now he is rocking! This ░█▓
▓█░ is the song that will make me ░█▓
▓█░ wait in the rain for ticket touts ░█▓
▓█░ to sell me a corner seat with ░█▓
▓█░ restricted view handing over ░█▓
▓█░ fifty pounds!!! Yes Ian McNabb is ░█▓
▓█░ touring, unfortunately not in his ░█▓
▓█░ own name. He is supporting John ░█▓

▓█░ such a lovely bag of everything. ░█▓
▓█░ Keeping Your Love Alive sounds ░█▓
▓█░ like a Marc Almond track, showing ░█▓
▓█░ that IanÆs voice is getting ░█▓
▓█░ better and better as he is ░█▓
▓█░ happier with his records. Since ░█▓
▓█░ 1994Æs collaboration with Crazy ░█▓
▓█░ Horses that gained him lots of ░█▓
▓█░ accolades he has released seven ░█▓
▓█░ solo studio albums to fairly low ░█▓
▓█░ interest (i.e. fans only!). This ░█▓
▓█░ album hopefully will rectify this ░█▓
▓█░ situation, and album closer The ░█▓
▓█░ Lonely Ones (2) is a rebel ░█▓
▓█░ rousing rock track that should ░█▓
