Being a semi-secret project at the Moodmusic HQs since spring 2004,
"Sweet Things" is finally here. Allready a favourite of Ewan Pearson,
Dirt Crew and a few others who has heard it on highly limited CD-r
promo, the "Original Mix" in it's glorious 11 minutes is a classic in
the making! Choosing the right elements of Disco, Italo + all the
cheese inbetween and injecting it into a 230Volt Food-Mixer
consisting of House-roots is what Star You Star Me do best, and with
"Sweet Things" it's all there. Getting vocal support from Jeny, the
latest addition to the band, the song starts with beefy beats and
superlow bass drones eventually growing thru add-on bass and that
magic vocal into an uplifting homage of forgotten proton disco glory
ala 1983! The master of summer bailando Ian Pooley delivers one of
his freshest remixes in ages with the right amount of 303s to be
categorized as "nu-acid". Fuck it, it's a great mix and we play it!
Additionally the Sysm guys delivered a retro 80's "Kiss Of Death Dub"
with slightly distorted synthlines, chugging beats and heavily echoed
vox parts to complement a great package.
