█ █ █ Well-travelled across Europe and Australia, Janko Dragovic █ █ █
█ █ █ has had a rich and varied involvement in the underground █ █ █
█ █ █ dance industry, now firmly represented under his Desaturate █ █ █
█ █ █ production soubriquet. As part of the award-winning Progress █ █ █
█ █ █ Inn duo with Igor Kadic, Dragovic has had much success with █ █ █
█ █ █ his compelling blend of progressive, house and techno and a █ █ █
█ █ █ host of production credits to his name. Under his solo █ █ █
█ █ █ guise, he has been no less successful as a century of █ █ █
█ █ █ production credits sits proudly next to the Desaturate name. █ █ █
█ █ █ Thus, Balkan Connection, One Of A Kind and Replug have █ █ █
█ █ █ played host to remix and original work, often in conjunction █ █ █
█ █ █ with a variety of high-profile collaborators. No better █ █ █
█ █ █ illustrated than in work with French icon Rick Pier O'Neil, █ █ █
█ █ █ the duo have continually found success with their unique █ █ █
█ █ █ brand of progressive house fused with techno. Finding a home █ █ █
█ █ █ on Particles, a score of credits has seen a pair of original █ █ █
█ █ █ EPs in the shape of the "Spirals" and "Crouch/Cursed" █ █ █
█ █ █ offerings, while work with Forniva saw the "Unite Divide" EP █ █ █
█ █ █ realised in mid-2017. Solo work finds its epicentre with May █ █ █
█ █ █ 2016's "The Unholy Mountain" as the three-track EP showcased █ █ █
█ █ █ the strength and diversity of the Desaturate sound while a █ █ █
█ █ █ trio of remixes extended the EP further. █ █ █

█ █ █ Now returning to Proton Music after a pair of remixes of █ █ █
█ █ █ Nocturna and Pete K in spring 2017, Desaturate's three-track █ █ █
█ █ █ "Wanderer" EP is a joy to behold. Opener, "Stranded" revels █ █ █
█ █ █ in a free-flowing shimmering lead that evolves elegantly █ █ █
█ █ █ with its filtered and gated effects creating a swathe of █ █ █
█ █ █ patterns. A crisp, hypnotic shell provides rhythmic urgency █ █ █
█ █ █ as a strong beat and running bass line add to the dynamism. █ █ █
█ █ █ █ █ █
█ █ █ The title track continues the rhythmic themes of its █ █ █
█ █ █ predecessor as a filtered running bass pattern and ticking █ █ █
█ █ █ percussive hi-hats, creates a locked-tight backdrop for a █ █ █
█ █ █ subtle arpeggio sequence to emerge from the lower █ █ █
█ █ █ frequencies, making its presence felt in a gated, swirling █ █ █
█ █ █ breakdown. Building further in the third movement, a █ █ █
█ █ █ pulsating pad adds further depth and texture in a work that █ █ █
█ █ █ creates quite a voyage through its sonic architecture. █ █ █

█ █ █ Final track, "Unto Each Other" revels in a huge and █ █ █
█ █ █ cavernous bass line that underlies a shuffling hi-hat █ █ █
█ █ █ triplet rhythm. Building in intensity and melodic form as it █ █ █
█ █ █ develops, a rippling, sparkling breakdown showcases the █ █ █
█ █ █ Desaturate skill-set as a female vocal cut adds further █ █ █
█ █ █ balance. Creating a wonderful musical collage in the third █ █ █
█ █ █ movement, Desaturate has created a work of talent and █ █ █
