Illya hails from Sydney and started out in the dance scene going to raves from
the age of 14. He started to work on his DJ skills when he turned 20 while working
at clubs like the Underground cafe where he was inspired by DJs like Derrick Carter
and Mark Farina and the sound that they played - deep to Chicago house.
With the love of his chosen genre, Illya began playing around Sydney to enthusiastic
crowds and even ended up playing with his heroes, Derrick Carter and Mark Farina at Bondi.
He currently maintains many residencies in Sydney, like Home nightclub.
He has just released his first mix CD for the website inthemix.com.au in celebration of
their annual top 50 DJ poll along with Melbourne robo groove DJ Boogs. Both of them are
touring currently on the back of this release.
