│ Classic EP from the long-running influential │
│ German trance label, NOOM Records. It was │
│ founded in 1993 by Joachim Keil as part of │
│ the Undercover Music Group (aka UCMG), │
│ alongside other notable German labels such as │
│ Phuture Wax, Plastic City, Global Ambition, │
│ and Time Unlimited. Many of the releases │
│ were either composed, remixed, or produced by │
│ the in-house engineer Commander Tom. The │
│ label went on to issue over 70 singles and │
│ nearly 20 albums in its lifespan, before the │
│ bankruptcy of UCMG forced it to shut down. │
│ Will it ever be resurrected someday? Only │
  │ time will tell... │
  │ │
│ This particular release is the CD-single of │
│ the 22nd release on the label, the "Second │
│ Life EP", which was Jim Clarke's final │
│ release for NOOM. The three tracks on this │
│ one show signs of branching out from the │
│ traditional energetic trance style; the lead │
│ track, "Paraguay", is a huge trance track │
│ that features live percussion from Paco │
│ Rodriguez and Miguel Torres through the │
│ breakdown. The two remaining tracks, │
│ "Wadadli" and "Frequent Abuse", are │
│ interesting experiments in melding the NOOM │
│ sound with funky breaks. "Wadadli" is little │
│ more than a breakbeat and occasional │
│ electronics, while "Frequent Abuse" backs up │
  │ its breakbeat with a 4/4 kickdrum, funky │
│ bassline, and oldskool rave stabs. │
  │ │
│ While many CD-single versions of NOOM │
│ releases contained bonus tracks, this │
│ particular release does not; it is identical │
│ to the vinyl edition. │
  │ │
│ Enjoy, and look forward to more NOOM releases │
│ and other classic trance obscurities from │

│ SOUR has been releasing good quality drum'n'bass, jungle & oldskool │
│ rips to the internet drum'n'bass public since summer 1999. Originally a │
│ small operation, we have now reached levels of international acclaim. │
  │ │
│ SWEET is our most recent offspring dedicated to bring you quality │

│ SWEET is dedicated to both the availability and promotion of music to │
│ the public, and our rips are intended to reflect these ideals. │
  │ │

│ . SWEET is dedicated to the expansion and infiltration of electronic │
│ music worldwide! We provide a service where none is available, │
│ specifically in many remote countries where traditional distributors │
│ can not afford to target. Also, the availability of electronic music │
│ in an easily accessible form expands the potential for real world │
│ sales to people who may not otherwise have considered buying this │
  │ kind of music. │

│ . SWEET is dedicated to the expansion of the online and offline real │
│ world scenes. With more listeners enjoying what they hear, clubs and │
│ venues can only expect MORE people to attend events; DJ's can only │
│ expect MORE people to pay to see THEM. │

│ By accident of today's current real world distribution arrangements, │
│ many artists will find that SWEET releases IMPROVE their real world │
│ sales; especially for items only on vinyl. This is the basis upon │
  │ which SWEET operates. │
