│ Classic EP from the long-running influential │
│ German trance label, NOOM Records. It was │
│ founded in 1993 by Joachim Keil as part of │
│ the Undercover Music Group (aka UCMG), │
│ alongside other notable German labels such as │
│ Phuture Wax, Plastic City, Global Ambition, │
│ and Time Unlimited. Many of the releases │
│ were either composed, remixed, or produced by │
│ the in-house engineer Commander Tom. The │
│ label went on to issue over 70 singles and │
│ nearly 20 albums in its lifespan, before the │
│ bankruptcy of UCMG forced it to shut down. │
│ Will it ever be resurrected someday? Only │
│ time will tell... │
│ │
│ This particular release is the CD-single of │
│ the 32nd release on the label, the │
│ "Supernatural EP", by Oliver Lieb recording │
│ under his Superspy alias. Full on │
│ tech-trance is the name of the game here; │
│ dark, moody, and mysterious sounds like only │
│ Oliver Lieb can bring to you. │
│ │
│ As is common with many of the CD-single │
│ versions of the NOOM releases, this disc │
│ contains two bonus tracks that do not appear │
│ on the vinyl release. Track #1, │
│ "Supernatural (Single)", is an edited-for- │
│ radio-play version of "Supernatural V1", │
│ while track #5, "Sumo V1", is exclusive to │
│ this release, an earlier take of Sumo which │
│ far surpasses V2 in my opinion. In V1, │
│ everything just works perfectly, and it │
│ builds to an amazing climax. Plus, I │
│ love that bassline. It's a shame that V1 was │
│ not the one released on vinyl... │
│ │
