This new CD in the CV NEAR series contains six exceptionally
diverse electro-acoustic compositions by Rene Uijlenhoet. Four
of the works are solely audio tracks and two are a combination
of electronic music with "live" instruments. For the latter,
Uijlenhoet selected for the archaic sounding organ and two
carillons. The electronic music contains racing-like sounds or
static sound fields, inspired by the early musique concrete of
Pierre Schaeffer and Pierre Henry, encounters of sound and
anti-sounds inspired by quantum mechanic and an "electronic
battlefield" based on old Spanish "organ batallas".
Instrumental and electronic sounds, tradition and
modernization are united on this CD.
NEAR - The Netherlands Electro-Acoustic Repertoire Centre - is
run by Rene Uijlenhoet himself.
