"vienna scientists" is a selection of homegrown austrian
productions that represent the city's unique and distinctive blend
of musical mixtures from mellow downtempo funk and chilled out
electronica to floor-friendly monster grooves with an attitude. in
the past couple of years a new generation of musicians, producers
and dj's has emerged to spread the vibe of the city, that always
has been a cornerstone to the tradition of music. despite the
tourist-oriented mass-entertainment and clichees of sentimental
kitsch vienna is much more than sch÷nbrunn or the opera house -
it's more lively than ever, with a vital and versatile clubscene
that absolutely lives up to international standards.
"vienna scientists" was founded by jⁿrgen drimal, dj and producer
since 1989, a dedicated record collector and mastermind behind
"freedom satellite". along with the artists contributing on this
release, the stage is set for an extraordinary journey through
different musical regions and soundscapes, no matter if natural or
electronic, up- or downtempo.
