─────────────────────────────── :: NOTES :: ────────────────────────────────
The mix begins with an unreleased number from JEROME PACMAN that was
due to appear on TRIP DO BRASIL but never made it onto the album due to
problems with sample clearance. Next is a nugget by DJ CAM who has
always been faithful to the label, followed by JOSE PADILLA, invited to
contribute after in an interview he revealed that he was influenced
heavily by bossa nova. JOE CLAUSSELL and JEPHTE GUILLAUME supplied the
fourth track, one of the most emblematic tunes weÆve ever released. DA
LATA, the electro-brazilian duo from England, supply the fifth tune, a
remix of an EKOVA track. TOM MOULTON, DAVID DURIEZ and DAN GHENACIA
offer their remixes of some WR tunes, including their cover of the
DONNA SUMMER and GIORGIO MORODER classic. Following this we have
another perfect groove by DJ SPINNA and then a track from his
collaboration with MATTHEW HERBERT to form their duo, DOCTOR ROCKIT.
TRIP DO RHYTHMIX will be accompanied by a few remix 12ö releases,
including track nine and eleven. These remixes will form the basis of
TRIP DO BRAZIL 2.5, which will also include this sublime LENINE track,
produced by DOCTOR L as well as number fourteen by LARRY HEARD. After
CLASSIC, the famous British label, went mad for the original, they
asked to commission a vinyl double-pack of remixes, which includes this
version by FREEFORM 5. RUSS GABRIEL offers us this broken jazz piece
taken from a CD commissioned by LIPTON ICE TEA. NOVO NAVIS follow with
a track taken from the first 12ö from the TRIP DO WEST project,
followed by MR TSUNAMI vs ZOOBONE, who fuse from their Candian base
country and blues with hip-hop. BLAZE is next, with his homage to the
gospel talents of the late great NINA SIMONE. The folk singer BETHANY
YARROW, produced here by MKL & STIL PHIL, provides track nineteen, a
house remix of a song from a war of succession. OPIUM provides the
penultimate tune, taken from TRIP DO WEST, used by SOCIETE GENERALE on
their compilation, followed by the minimal skills of DAVID K, a new
signing on STAY TUNED records. There you have it, seven years of
electro-goodness in an old-meets-new musical free-for-all.
