Release Notes:

Frantic Mantis - born out of an impromptu jam session in Summer 2003 of long
time friends in G÷teborg, Sweden. Bridging the mutual musical admiration of
Hσkan Johansson and Per Stσlberg of Divison Of Laura Lee and Shelby Cinca of
Frodus/Decahedron. Merging the styles of said bands impeccably to create a
modern day fusion of punk and ambient rock known hereforth as: Datapunk. Screamy
vocals, sung vocals, spastic guitars, 8bit explosions, and no over processing
done by the collective brains of the members. Spontaneous and dangerous... two
words that even modern day punk music has forgotten.

This album was recorded in numerous locations from the acclaimed studio of
SwedenÆs Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Svenska Grammofon Studion, to the legendary
Dischord House where independent punk music in America had itÆs humble
beginnings. Utilizing the advent of digital recording to bridge geographical
divides and create ultimate sonic mayhem.

The album sees the members visiting their musical past as well as erasing any
conceived notion of habitual music-making and looking forward with unhinged
creativity. The sessions were fast and a majority of songs were fleshed out in
the studio after ritualistic caffeinated pre-studio pow-wows whilst Shelby spent
time in Sweden earlier in 2005. The sessions leading to this album capture pure
adrenaline and inspiration as Per tore through guitar lines, Hσkan demolished
his drums, and Shelby screamed in rabid bliss (Please note: Shelby had been
bitten by a rabid dog in the streets of Bucharest, Romania û his hometown û and
had been under a treatment of weekly rabies shots during his European
excursion). Finishing touches and electronic mayhem were created with comrades
Jonathan Krienik (Trans Am Producer) and Stephen Guidry (The Cassettes) in
Washington, D.C. and over the internet with Eddie from Thrice as his band
tracked their latest LP.

What ultimately sets this album apart from redefining and creating a new genre
of frantic punk known as Datapunk, is a uncalculated intensity that seethes from
every 0 and 1 of digitally reproduced sound. Music on the verge of complete
meltdownà the sound of being barraged by information and advertising at every
turn in the internet ageà the reflection of the collective unconscious of
mankind. And despite this present William Gibson-esque dark horizon painted by
the band what isnÆt forgotten is the glimpse of hopeà the flower that grows in
the crack of the endless wasteland of blacktop pavement and franchises. Chaos.
