matt kenny has been djing and partying on the london scene for a
long time? too long judging by those grey hairs! since catching
the bug in 1986 after buying a third hand pair of citronic decks
and a copy of 'yo bumrush the show' the last 15 years have been an
fascinating musical journey for matt that has seen many changes on
the london scene. matt and steve 'fella' kotey are partners in
crime on a number of music projects and the days are filled
managing the big bear, economy dj and bear entertainment labels.
after an appearance on dirteebuttz vol. 1 kenny now gets a shot at
his first solo release and handle it's more than nicely. 'the
stay' is based on a vintage drum machine loop a la sun palace
peppered with live percussion, an acidic synth line plus some
bittersweet melody. flip over for a classic house excursion
working some classic bluesy detroit house chords and sporting
great twisted drum programming. also comes in new blinding,
in-yer-face sleeve design!
