kW keeps up with the Schema Records tradition with the first album
from Balanτo.
Born from an idea of the bassist Davide Penta, Balanτo is one of
the most interesting proposals from Fez, an inside label of Schema
Records. Artistic production by Nicola Conte (Jet Sounds), the
group's music flows between bossanova, cinema soundtracks, and
songs with strong jazz influences to the fusion of drum'n'bass with
easy listening in the track 'Aguadream'. The vocal soloist is
Mariella Carbonara whose ability to sweep from Joyce to Edda
DellÆOrso is amazing. The original compositions are by Davide Penta
and the pianoist Pippo Lombardo. The album also contains new
versions of 'Meti una sera a cena' by Ennio Morricone and 'Cinnamon
& Clove' by Johnny Mandel. Between harpischords, hammonds, afro
brazilian percussions and Mediterranean melodies the music of
Balanτo is the soundtrack of a new cocktail generation.
