to benchmark the launch of slick sixties new label ôsuper slick
stereo sevensö, they are releasing three concurrent singles. this
being one of them. the a-sideÆs ôpistachioö by alp is an excellent
one to start with û a sliding jazz and beats-fest, it cuts like a
nightmares on wax/dj cam crossover. the b-sides ôÆtil infinityö by
333 is equally as instantaneous and a bit more of a floor pleaser,
with james brown style wa-wa guitar and some super sassy beats,
itÆs a sure boost for a label weÆll hearing a lot more of in the
future.
boca45 is bristol based dj / producer who has been recording hip
hop and funk influenced tunes for over 4 years. the debut boca
album entitled 'pitch sounds' will be released on manchester based
grand central records worldwide and invada records in australia.
the album includeds vocal contributions from new york soul singer
mc kay whose album was released on go beat in 2003, tammy payne
from jukes who are signed to badly drawn boys label twisted nerve,
monkey moo from antidotes hip hop crew aspects, san diego based mc
profile from the sound providers as well as bristol based mc's
retna and reds.
boca 45 has previosly recorded with portisheads tour dj andy smith
as dynamo productions who released their album analogue on illicit
recordings (uk), unique records (germany)and invada records in
australia.
