having spent a year putting together a studio in london waldeck
began to mix tracks for house and techno labels such as choci's
chewns. back in vienna he was infected by the early triphop/
leftfoot/ dopeheadz sound and completely rearranged the vocal
tracks he had recorded with incognito's joy malcolm. by chance, the
rearranged tracks reached the ears of messrs kruder & dorfmeister
who immediately agreed to produce them.during a series of all night
sessions which followed on from his job in a vienna law firm, the
besuited waldeck recorded "northern lights" which was an
international critical success. amongst other accolades, the
stand-out track "aquarius" was named single of the month by "muzik"
magazine 12/96. since then, waldeck has been both expanding and
refining his sound and now presents the laid back fruits of his
labour: "balance of the force" .
