█▌ ▐█
█ Obiwon's EP drops at a time when █
█ Africans and the rest of the world is █
█ paying attention and recognising the █
█ potentials of African Urban Music. With █
█ his "Jedaimusic", Obiwon seeks the █
█ perfect African yet Urban/HipHop sound. █
█ █
█ With a conviction that his moniker takes █
█ back a name which was initially jacked █
█ from an African language (Obiwon's real █
█ name is "Obiora" and "Obi" means "heart" █
█ in Igbo), Obi tries to be different by █
█ exhibiting skills to set him apart like █
█ a true "Jedai" in his brand of African █
█ Urban. █
█ █
█ This preliminary experiment fuses █
█ indigenous language, chords and rhythms █
█ within the basic tenets of Urban and █
█ R'n'B. Lyrics explore relationships from █
█ every human angle, at times being █
█ socially conscious and reflecting on a █
█ relationship with God. The result is an █
█ undeniable groove, soul and a deep █
█ understanding of where this artiste is █
█ coming from. █
█ █
█ The EP release becomes the ideal █
█ precursor to his forthcoming debut █
█ full-length album, "Overture", and █
█ serves to invite audiences to a deeper █
█ expedition that is to follow. The buzz █
█ is gradually growing from Nigeria to █
█ Internet radio and beyond. █
