Release Notes:
--------
Over the next few years, the band worked hard perfecting their live show and
touring Scandinavia and England. In 2003, Diefenbach released their second
album, æRUN TRIP FALLÆ on Display in Denmark which was co-produced by Morten
Bue. The band had moved on considerably, resulting in a more accessible album
than their instrumental debut. With the help of new electronics, Diefenbach were
able to do what they did best; experiment with genres, sound and structure.
Inspired by the psychedelic concept albums of the 70Æs, Californian harmonies of
the 60Æs, electronic film music and just about every other style of music under
the sun, Diefenbach proved they had a rare talent for combining all the best
bits of music to create epics full of energy and melody.
Whilst recording æRun Trip FallÆ, Diefenbach tried something theyÆd never
thought of doing before, Allan and Kenneth tried singing. What turned out as an
experiment, led to them developing one of their best assets û vocals! Not only
could they sing, but Allan and Kenneth could harmonise almost as well as their
Californian 60Æs rock heroes.
In February 2004, DiefenbachÆs longtime friend and manager sent a demo marked
with ôthe five bastard children of Brian Wilson and Prefuse 73ö to London where
it found itself on the office stereo at Wall of Sound (home to fellow
Scandinavians and platinum selling artists, Royksopp). Within a week, Wall of
SoundÆs indie offshoot, WE LOVE YOU licensed æMake Your MindÆ to appear on the
next in the collectable Banksy-stencilled compilation series, æWe Love You..So
Love Us Three.Æ A few months later, Diefenbach were invited to perform a live
acoustic show in London at The Legion for the album launch party. They blew
everyoneÆs socks off with their mysterious musical soul and promptly became We
Love YouÆs newest signings in the same way that I Am Kloot and The Bees first
started out.
First single "Favourite Friend" currently fresh rotation on radio, and MTV.
Album out in stores june 20th.
Enjoy!
