In 1996 London soul boy DJ's Dr Bob Jones and Lofty joined forces to
form East West Connection. Sharing a love of black music and having
known each other through the London club scene, they decided to put
their heads together and get into the studio.
East West Connection's first release was a cover version of the
Philly classic by Teddy Pendergrass entitled " The More I Get ". The
record turned into an anthem on the soulful dance scene around the
globe from London to New York and Cork to Tokyo. This was to be the
start of their reputation as producers and writers of quality, black
dance music.
With the help of jazz musician Neil Cowley, East West Connection
released their first album entitled "The More I Get " in the summer
of 1999. Described as a collection of "soul, jazz & funk with
attitude" the album has been a huge success, reaching out to lovers
of soulful dance from around the world and was licensed by Internal
Bass (America). Singles released include "Love Music", "Rollin" and
"Cuppachino". Ashley Beedle, Callum Walker (Fresh & Low), San
Francisco's Dubtribe Sound System and Lexicon Avenue have performed
remix duties for East West Connection.
East West Connection second album "Nothing Can Hold Us Back" was
released in the spring of 2001. They co-wrote a track with soul
legend Terry Callier, entitled "Tomorrow in Your Eyes". Other
vocalists involved in the album include female singer / songwriter
Maiya James and Pete Trotman from Blacksmith.
The band has performed at many venues and events including London's
leading live music venue the Jazz Cafe.
Lofty and bob DJ together under the Chillifunk sessions banner,
playing at various guest spots from London to Tokyo.
East West Connection have remixed tracks for Jody Watley, Dennis
Ferrer and Antoney Flanagan.
The next release, "Look Inside your Soul " (due out early 2003),
features Daniel Vacchio on vocals and Lexicon Avenue provide the
remixes.
Lofty and Bob are currently compiling compilations on behalf of Fuego
/Harmless and Unity Records Japan, as well as recording new solo
projects and more EWC. These are to be released in 2003.

5 years deephouse. 5 years of nice music all over the place...
and it's still only about what we love.
you all know the situation nowadays, security is a nice thing to have,
p2p, people selling etc...i wont waste anymore words on that now.
we'd like to thank all the groups releasing quality electronic music,
the siteops who host the nice tunes, and all the people that really
make the scene a nice place to participate.
now enjoy the music and if you like it, support the artists.
