Signum is the combination of two of the most talented
producers in the European music industry. They are
Pascal Minnaard and Ronald Hagen, often producing under
their personal names.
Signum have a powerful following back in their home
country, Holland. They regularly guest at the top clubs
in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, including the legendary
'Escape Club'. Ron and Pascal first met each other in
high school, where they started to do some work
together, but eventually lost contact. In the meantime
Pascal was signed to BPM, the giant Dutch label/agency
that saw through the likes of Armin, Ferry Corsten and
DJ Tiesto. Pascal did some releases for 4-play and Jinx,
under the name 'Signum'.
Pascal then teamed up with Ron again and together they
made the huge club anthem, "What Ya Got 4 Me?". Ron was
also signed to BPM, and Signum went on to produce a
whole string of chart smashing records. These included
their remix of the massive Tidy Trax record, "Travel -
Bulgarian"; their collaboration with British producer
Scott Mac, "Coming On Strong" and more recently the Jinx
release, "Solar Level".
Under their personal names, they have also had records
on two different Gatecrasher compilations, with,
"Forever" and "Take you There". They are now household
names in every major European country, taking their
tough style of music all over the world.
Signum are extremely busy remixers, giving the Signum
makeover to a selection of Europe's finest dance music.
Signum have remixed records for, ATB, Blank and Jones,
Matt Darey, Space Brothers and Kay Cee. They have been
remixed by artists such as Hyperlogic and DJ Tiesto.
SignumÆs last assualt on the British club scene, came in
the form of æ1st Strike.Æ The records received support
from many leading DJs including Scott Bond and Ferry
Corsten and found its way onto the latest Gatecrasher
compilation.
After leading the front of the European trance scene for
the last four years, Signum have now gone back to the
studio and are currently working on some new releases.
Pascal and Ron have played at a host of some of the
world's best clubs including trips to Japan (Zouk),
Canada, Israel, Switzerland, Germany (Tresor, Dorian
Gray, Love Parade), Spain and of course Holland.
In July they made their UK debut with an awesome
three-hour set at Gatecrasher. Since this highly
impressive debut, Signum have become crowd favourites at
both Slinky and Godskitchen, for whom they played in
front of over 5,000 clubbers on their 4th birthday. They
also filled in for an absent Scott Bond, to great effect
at Gatecrasher in October, playing for over four hours
in total.
Ron and Pascal remain down to earth despite their recent
successes and always have time for their fans. Their
sets of euphoric trance, have won them many admirers up
and down the UK and their rise to the very top, has only
just begun.
Signum will be appearing for Gatecrasher in Cardiff on
New Years Eve. They will be playing for Gatecrasher,
Godskitchen and Slinky on a monthly basis throughout
2002.
