Continuing our quest to unite the world of dance music, we present
the second in the series of Global Guidance originals (GDR010). The
first track is a simple, beat track with nice vocal samples,
appropriately titled "Oaktown Funky". Pieced together by the talented
San Francisco team known as RaSoul. The second track, "Taster's
Choice", was created by Ron Trent, Charles Webster, and Sundiata from
scratch in a last minute, all night jam session. Charles, best known
for his work on his label Love From San Francisco, was in town for
the Billboard conference and was going to do a track for us. With a
little work and a lot of luck, Ron Trent, mastermind of Prescription,
agreed to join in the session and brought Sundiata along. Twelve
hours later, all three had resurfaced at the S&G Diner with a
brilliant journey known as "Taster's Choice". The full EP of remixes
will soon be released on Prescription. The B-Side starts with a track
from a producer we long respected. Jeremiah, from Austria's i-Levels,
sent us a track entitled "Dope Eyes" which he said was the best he
ever did. After hearing it, you'll be a believer too. The final track
is Guidance's effort at not only uniting producers from around the
world, but also incorporating different musical styles onto one EP.
Jungle from Chicago?! Who knows if it will work for the junglists
overseas, but we dig the raw feel of the track. Instep, a couple of
young students, having been producing jungle lakeside for the past 3
years and will finally get a chance to hear what the rest of the
world thinks about it.
