Kevin Beadle has been instrumental in forging the new jazz music
scene which has grown over the last 20 years. Championed by
luminaries Bob Jones and Giles Peterson, who along with Kevin
started the now legendary Sunday afternoon sessions at "Dingwalls"
in Camden Town. Attracting dancers and music lovers from around the
world, this aural bacchanalia has become the template for jazz and
rare groove clubs throughout the world.
A scene that began in London went on to flourish on a worldwide
stage and it is on this stage that Kevin has spread his musical
message DJing throughout the world. He soon came to the attention
of various labels and has compiled numerous albums including æThe
Essential ArgoÆ , æCadet GroovesÆ, æThe Capital Rare SeriesÆ and
the best of Grant Green and Terry Callier. On top of his DJing and
compilational duties, Kevin now works as A&R for Clean Up Records,
notable signings include Valerie Etienne and The Sneaker Pimps.
On this album Kevin Beadle has put together recent compositions by
some of the driving forces of the new jazz scene. From the smoke
filled clubs of the 1950s to the dance floors, bars and restaurants
of the millennium, jazz has gained wider appeal and broader
definition. This album allows us a glimpse at this definition.
Lesser known artists (such as Kimbu Kimra, Bougie Soliterre,
Stephane Attias, Stereo People, Recloose, Russ Gabriel, or J-Walk),
but many recognisable sounds, with Kevin Beadle at the controls ù
pleasure is the only principle.

If you're down with the deep house music, music with feeling ...
music that makes you groove no matter where you are ... and you
keep the feeling. dh 2001
