12 Fingers come from an idea by Ivan Savoldi (DJ and remixer) and
Alessandro Cattenatti (sound engineer). Ivan brought in the House
influence from years of playing in clubs all over Italy, whereas
Alessandro contributed to create the 12 Fingers sound adding the
jazz, funk, disco and Brazilian influences, being a record collector
and connoisseur of these styles. They've been working together since
1999, employing from time to time different skilful guest musicians.
With one of them, Roberto Caimi, guitarist and composer of Brazilian
music, Ivan and Alessandro launched the project 12 Fingers featuring
Vivianne Cruz. Vivianne is a singer born in Araguari (Minas Gerais,
Brazil), where she grew up influenced by the many different musical
cultures of her country. In 1993 she moved to Italy where she decided
that singing had to be her professional career. The remixes are
courtesy of Tokyo based duo Agora Rhythm (DJ Shingo and Tetsu
Shibuya). Their two singles on seminal NY House label King Street,
'New Hope' and 'Galaxy/Circles' (executive producer Danny Krivit)
received heavy support from Francois K among the others. Tetsu
Shibuya also has his own project, Brisa, and under this guise he
produced one of the mixes on this 12".
