│ DJ/producer/M.I.A. beau and all-purpose cool dude Diplo will │
│ see the release of his latest mix CD, Fabriclive 24, on │
│ November 15 in the U.S.; Brits will see it a month earlier on │
│ October 17. The CD is a tribute to (and release by) London club │
│ Fabric, a sweaty nightspot that the blond-haired selector holds │
│ close to his heart. Don't believe us? How about straight from │
│ the horse's mouth: "Fabric was the first club I ever played by │
│ myself in London, I did the solo show and they just kept │
│ inviting me back. I really like it; it's always a really │
│ receptive crowd and the soundsystem is crazy. One of the best │
│ I've ever played on." If that doesn't spell L-O-V-E, we're not │
│ sure what does. │

│ A melange of sounds and grooves will grace the tracklisting of │
│ this disc, as evidenced below. If it looks like more of a │
│ throwback to his Hollertronix days than the DJ Shadow-esque │
│ atmospherics of his debut album, Florida, it probably is. Diplo │
│ claims to have wanted the effort to showcase the electro/Miami │
│ bass sound, while "throwing in all sorts of things with a funk │
│ feel...I wanted to break out a lot of new stuff that people │
│ might not be exposed to yet as well." Bring it on, kind sir, │
│ and much respect; it's not every DJ that dares to mix Cat │
│ Power, Ludacris, the Cure, and Aphex Twin in the same set. │

│ Oh, and according to an interview he did with our own Mark │
│ Pytlik, Diplo met M.I.A. at Fabric, but don't bother playing │
│ the CD backwards searching for hidden love messages...unless │
│ you own one of them backwards-playing CD players. │
