time: 11.46 pm. location: outside, streetlights & overcast skies - the
veteran exits the soup kitchen, limping, searching for the man. dialog:
(mutters to himself) "got to kill this pain in my leg".
meanwhile, on the other side of the planet... time: 2.32 am. location:
inside the nu-yorican poets cafe, smell of weed in the air - yeshua bursts
onto the stage, mic in hand. the b-boy crowd goes wild as the dj cuts it
up. strings collide and "beats dance around the track" - the essence is
revealed. dialog: voiceover "this moment... right now! could be the turning
point in your life".
the dynamic duo are back, this time with their first full length jiznoint
and armed with the lyrical talents of hip-hop's independent scene. mass
influence from atlanta ga - recently signed with fat beats; juice aleem
from london - sometime collaborator with roots manuva & new flesh for old
amongst others; and yeshua da poed, one of brooklyn's finest underground
mcs, founder of hed bop records. the title track features dj ollie teeba of
the herbaliser flexing turntablist skills over slamming uptempo beats and
other collaborators on this project include the euphonic strings & burak
agca on guitar.
following their own musical agenda, jonny cuba & the loop professor embark
on a journey with this lp and like any really good film, it presents
different moods and atmospheres.
