:: Release Notes:
::
:: Papa Joe Grappa covers the news through humor and the blues.
::
:: Tom Hyslop of BLUES REVIEW (OCT/NOV 2005) SAYS:
::
:: "Too White to Sing the Blues is a refreshingly unserious
:: collection of humorous blues - not a song here has to do with
:: poverty, cheating, alcohol, or any other standard subject.
:: Papa Joe Grappa is an LA-based songwriter whose humor hits
:: the mark whether his target is SUVs, aging, church sex
:: scandals, plastic surgery culture, medical marijuana, Mary
:: Kay Letourneau or whites singing the blues. With an
:: accomplished band and tasty guitar, Grappa delivers his
:: pointed messages well."
::
:: Papa Joe Grappa is backed by a stellar group of musicians
:: who've played and recorded with Bonnie Raitt, Steve Miller,
:: Dave Mason, Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen. He's
:: accompanied on vocals by the Sweet Inspirations, backup
:: singers to Elvis Presley. Papa Joe Grappa is unique and has
:: been described as "the square peg in the round hole of the
:: blues."
::
:: Papa Joe Grappa is a guitarist who writes and sings topical
:: blues in the Los Angeles area. He's played clubs in New York,
:: London, Paris, Memphis, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Salt Lake
:: City. His work has been featured on the Dr. Demento Show. In
:: the daytime, he is head writer for the Tonight Show with Jay
:: Leno, under the pseudonym Joe Medeiros.
