Ostensibly standing for Love The Action rather than Lawn Tennis
Association, LTA is the brainchild of Salford's Dave Connally and this is
his debut on the Puturistix's Phuture Lounge imprint. Already aired
several times this summer on Benji B's 1Xtra show, "Morphine" is clearly
influenced by Spymusic's "Cloak", a sly deep house track with tense key
shifts and light-fingered jazz touches. "What Comes To Ya?" employs even
looser jazz-funk, bringing it up to Sunburst Band standards but with less
of the disco fromage factor. Broken rhythms, a smooth flute and human
voices are introduced on "Brighter Than The Sun", which keeps to the
laidback feel of the whole EP.
