█ My rap name is Norm Pizzi. I'm a 33 year old █
█ family man. However, it has not always been this █
█ way. The lifestyle that I once lived was not █
█ acquired, but one learned-- the way of life from █
█ where I'm from. Although I had thought that this █
█ way of life was what was right, it nearly █
█ depleted me. Through the death of my father, the █
█ incarceration of my brother, as well as my own █
█ struggles all being drug related, I made a █
█ conscious decision to be the one to break the █
█ cycle; to not only change my own life, but █
█ hopefully some day make a difference for others █
█ with similar struggles. █
█ Music has always been my passion. As I reflect █
█ back on my childhood and adolescent years, I █
█ remember collecting the tapes/albums/cds of many █
█ categories/genres of music, in hopes that one day █
█ I could touch the world the same way with my own █
█ music.s █
█ I've been rapping since high school, performing █
█ in talent shows. I've rapped with a group called █
█ Kach 22, once featured in Murder Dog magazine, █
█ recognized as one of the best independent rap █
█ groups. I enjoyed collaborating with others, but █
█ I often wondered if I had what I took to do it on █
█ my own. That was when my dream was born. Today, █
█ I'm reaching a dream that I didn't even know was █
█ possible. █
█ The concept of my album, entitled, "The Rewrite █
█ of my Obituary," derives from my extensive use of █
█ drugs/alcohol, money, love, sex, and violence, █
█ the pain and loss associated with my use, finally █
█ reaching my bottom, and my struggle to get and █
█ stay clean. My lyrics go on to describe the █
█ transformation of my life, resulting in me living █
█ life on life's terms, dealing with change, and █
█ living out my dream to make music; to give hope █
█ to a dying generation. █
█ I want to give a special thanks to all those who █
█ have shown support, and purchased my album. I █
█ know that I have reached my goal if the message █
