| France's most ardent admirers of Detroit's finest are back with |
| another stellar EP on Superhuit. The Motor City influence extends |
| beyond Moodymann to the soul of Motown and more specifically, |
| Marvin Gaye. Cinnamone's "Do The Boogie" is a simple boogie track |
| that is invested with a keen sense disco funk that it manages to |
| keeps in check and doesn't over-egg the recipe. Boogymann's "I |
| Missed You" samples a familiar Gaye song and makes it into a neat |
| little head-nodder. But perhaps the most striking track on the 12" |
| is Dan Electro's "A Song Of Will". Bearing the influence of Bobby |
| Konders' "Dis Poem" but with a more militant tone, incorporating |
| soul and ANC rhetoric in an inventive, offbeat groove that is |
| aurally arresting. |
