:: Release Notes:
::
:: A soundtrack for an idealized modern life.
::
:: Inside the walls of this cold plastic city The Fast Computers
:: are waiting to get out, looking for an exit that isn't there.
:: Is there any hope for happiness outside of drugs and lust?
::
:: Formed in 2003 in the basement of an ancient house on the
:: outskirts of Chicago, The Fast Computers are the braintrust
:: of Peter Dean, a man who remembers a time when people
:: thought the future would be filled with flying cars,
:: molecular
:: transport, and omniharmony. Disenchanted with the realities
:: of modern life, he has, along with Jennifer Fox created a
:: sound that is distinctively modern and complexly reminiscent.
::
:: Propagating a musical lineage that stretches
:: from Brian Wilson to Jarvis Cocker, The Fast Computers
:: strive to create a soundtrack for an idealized modern life,
:: one free from greed, regret and control by invisible
:: machines. From sparse quiet gems to sonic masterpieces,
:: The Fast Computers run the gamut from demure to overwhelming
:: while always striving for new directions in a cluttered
:: musical
:: world.
