Release Notes:

One song, one hour in one take recorded live. lullaby is If
Thousand's attempt to aid listeners in slumber. So far the record
is 20 minutes before falling asleep so apparently they were
succesful. Recorded at Aaron's by Tim Anderson using 12 mics
plugged into a single DAT recorder. Mastered by Ben Durrant at
Crazy Beast Studio.

"This is exactly what music needs to be. It feels like a warm
blanket." -- Peter Aldrich

The unique soundscapes of If Thousands have been called
atmospheric, ambient, noise, trance, drone, and electronica. All
of these titles are as accurate as they are inaccurate.

If Thousands is Aaron Molina (guitars, vocals, drums, noises) and
Christian McShane (keyboards, Moog, theremin, loops, noises). The
duo began performing as an experiment in 2000 when McShane, a
classically trained vocalist and guitarist, and Molina, a punk
bassist, collectively decided to abandon their respective
instruments and take up completely new instruments, ones they had
no idea how to play. They chose this path in order to seek new
musically territory through a naive approach.

Lullaby was created to guide listeners into slumber. It is one
immense piece that was recorded live with 12 microphones
strategically placed around the room, giving the listener a real
sense of spatial sonic distinction. The result is a quiet, subtle,
powerful experience that raises the bar for future freeform
artists. Minimalism and serenity are the elements used, as opposed
to volume and aggression.

Lullaby is the follow-up to If Thousands 2003 debut Candice
Recorder. Since then, If Thousands has contributed to film
soundtracks and has performed live throughout the Midwest, most
notably at 2002's Elegy performance in their hometown of Duluth,
Minnesota. (silbermedia.com)
