│ Monheit has more nuance, precision, and timbral control than ││
│ most jazz singers twice her age. This sampler cherry-picks ││
│ from her first efforts, and session help from old-school ││
│ luminaries like Kenny Barron (piano), Ron Carter (bass), and ││
│ David "Fathead" Newman (saxophone) give the set a sparkling, ││
│ timeless quality. ││
