████▌ A little showcase for the Hospital label here, featuring London ▐████
████▌ Elektricity (who are in fact the purveyors of "NHS Funk"), E.S.T. ▐████
████▌ and Dwarf Electro, although all tracks would appear to be pretty ▐████
████▌ much the work of the same group, Black Dog style. The title track ▐████
████▌ thankfully doesn't remind me of hospitals once, though it does ▐████
████▌ remind me a little of Finitribe. This is, by the way, a good thing. ▐████
████▌ It also reminds me slightly of Cabaret Voltaire at their funkiest, ▐████
████▌ which could so easily be a very bad thing. And on to "Scrutiny", ▐████
████▌ ESTÆs chance to flex their digital widgets and cry "Ta -Da! Look at ▐████
████▌ us! We've got a new name!" hopefully. A bombastic intro gives way ▐████
████▌ to a solid bass and a slowly but surely climbing piano piece. This ▐████
████▌ is one of those records that stomps round and round in a tight ▐████
████▌ circle when it could have stomped in a more interesting shape ▐████
████▌ instead. Nice, nonetheless. Dwarf Electro promise great things with ▐████
████▌ their name, conjuring images of midget exploitation and, erm, ▐████
████▌ "Agent Orange". Initially a brooding sulk of good old fashioned ▐████
████▌ d'n'b, it remains appropriately pissed off, even when a guitar is ▐████
████▌ reluctantly forced to make noises for its evil homonculoid ▐████
████▌ beatmasters. The resulting noise is a bit like the bloke from ▐████
████▌ Portishead playing John Barry tunes with his arse. Perhaps ▐████
████▌ confusingly, this too is a good thing. ▐████
████▌ ▐████
