The first item on the series is a mini-album by
RESSES (Ran Slavin), one of the leading pioneers
in electronic music and video in Israel. In the
past few years, Slavin has released several
albums, pieces, sound works and video works,
thorough various labels in Israel (Fact Records,
Earsay) as well as labels from around the world
(German label Mille Plateaux and the Portuguese
label Cronica).
Unlike SlavinÆs works in the recent years, the
music on this EP (which was composed on 2001) is
more melodic and tends to be not as abstract.
This is SlavinÆs first release on Jerusalem-based
electronic label AK-DUCK.
'Ducks Don't Swim in Swamps' is a new series of
mini-albums by electronic artists based in Israel
and throughout the world, due to be released
during the next few months on the label AK-DUCK.
This series will be compiled of 3 inch CD's, and
each volume will be characterized by a slightly
different sound and style, from the wide range of
electronic music.
The musicians participating in this series have
either shaped or influenced the members of
AK-DUCK, in one way or another.
The series' graphic design is done by designer Roy
Even -Tov.
