Releasenotes:
Sound In Silence is happy to announce the return of Jason Sweeney and his
Panoptique Electrical project, presenting his new album Quiet Ecology.

This is his third release on the label after last year's highly acclaimed album
Disappearing Music For Face and the debut album, back in 2015, of his
collaboration project with Richard Adams of Hood and The Declining Winter, under
the name of Great Panoptique Winter.

For about twenty years Jason Sweeney, now based in Adelaide, Australia, has been
composing and recording either solo, under the alias of Other People's Children
and Simpßtico, or with friends in various musical projects like Pretty Boy
Crossover, Sweet William, School of Two, Luxury Gap, Par Avion, Great Panoptique
Winter, Mist & Sea, Winter Witches and many others. He has also been directing
and creating interactive works for the internet, experimental films, projects
for galleries and theatre spaces and has collaborated with some of Australia's
leading performing arts companies and organizations.

In 2016 Sweeney undertook a quiet odyssey across four Australian cities
(Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne), searching out and mapping quiet spaces
in and amongst these built environments. He wanted to discover as many zones of
quiet or retreat in these cities and make compositions in response to these
locations. He created maps and listening walks that took him from space to
space. His desire was to ask a simple question: Can you find a way to release
yourself, if only temporarily, from the noise of the world?

Quiet Ecology is a sonic memorial to these spaces and a musical act of quiet
preservation. It's a relaxing collection of six quiet compositions, with a total
duration of something more than 45 minutes, which sets out to slow things down.
Centered on gentle piano melodies and a background full of atmospheric textures
and swelling cello drones, Quiet Ecology balances between modern classical and
ambient soundscapes, in the vein of both ambient pioneers like Brian Eno and
Harold Budd and artists like Max Richter and A Winged Victory For The Sullen.

All music composed, performed and produced by Jason Sweeney.

Cello by Zoe Barry.
Sleeve design by Amy Milhinch.
Cello parts recorded by Jed Palmer at Mixmasters, Adelaide.
