Secret Handshake is the synth-rock brainchild of composer J. Mark Inman.

The sound combines richly layered keyboards and the best in sensitive and
introspective vocals on the verge of an awkward meltdown that recall your
favorite moments in Morrissey, Brian Wilson and Thom York. The complex harmonic
relations work overtime to implode your inner child's desire to rule the world.

Secret Handshake was a finalist in VH1's Song of the Year Award for the song
ôGhost Towns.ö Look under the pop category. Ghost Towns can be downloaded for
free off of the Listen page.

Never Come Down was recorded and mixed over a period of a year in MarkÆs bedroom
at his apartment in Bloomington, IN. With the exception of ôIÆd Rather Dream,ö
which was co-written with Rob Gowin, all songs and instruments on Never Come
Down were composed by and played by Mark. While in Massachusetts, Mark hired
Blue Jay StudioÆs mixing engineer Giles Christenson to be a special consultant
on the project. Mark also worked closely with mastering engineer Dana J. White
bringing the sound to its ultimate state. Now that the album is finished, Mark
has formed Secret Handshake into a three piece band with Lionel on drums and
Emmanuel on Bass; Mark continues on vocals, electronics and keyboards.
