dwhÆs new ep follows on from their stunning debut, ôStill Hereö (CRS021), which
was heavily supported by the likes of Rainer Truby, Frankie Valentine, Gerd, Kev
Beadle and other international tastemakers.
1. Ep no. 2 kicks off in fine style with the Eddy and Yanna (who recently
remixed Tania MariaÆs æCome With MeÆ) reworking of 'Beauty', which ensures a
sunny latin disposition throughout the infectious grooves . By employing the
uplifting trumpet refrain and soulful vocals of the original, the mix is nicely
embellished with lush strings and a shuffling bruk beat aimed firmly at the
dancefloor.
2. A rolling piano loop, supremely beautiful vocals and a gentle percussive
pulse give the original version of 'Beauty' a classic timeless quality. Gorgeous
deeply soulful music which allow the lyrics to work their spiritual magic.
3. The Languid head-nodding slo-mo beats of æDarksideÆ, augmented by remixer of
the moment, Blackbeard, compliment the vocals superbly well. They have produced
a deeply beautiful piece of fresh downbeat funk which will work to perfection on
the more discerning dancefloors.
4. 'Latter Rains' is a Balearic beauty dripping in delicate mediteranian cool.
The soothing vocals reminicent of Viola Wills, filmic piano refrain and
percussive washes shimmer throughout this mellow masterpiece, creating a sublime
finish to this outstanding EP.
