:: Release Notes:
::
:: Gretchen Lieberum is a New York born, Berkeley-raised, Los
:: Angeles living singer / songwriter whose music has appeared
:: on the Sundance award winning Paramount release Mean Creek
:: soundtrack (check it out @ www.meancreekmovie.com) and whose
:: new album Siren Songs (read all about it @
:: www.gretchenmusic.com ) was produced by the great artist John
:: Gold (check his style here at CD Baby ) and his partner Sam
:: Music.s
::
:: Back in the late 90s, Gretchen's first album "3 AM", produced
:: by Greg PoreΘ (who has worked with artists as diverse as
:: Stevie Wonder and Cassandra Wilson), gained enormous
:: popularity (millions of downloads) on the once young and
:: thriving Mp3.com before that company was bought by Vivendi.
:: Several of her songs including "3am" and "Angel Eyes"
:: regularly topped the Mp3.com charts in Jazz, Acid Jazz and
:: Soul categories.
::
:: That's when the millions of downloads she was pulling caught
:: the eye of an A&R guy at Lakeshore records (Warner bros), and
:: so Gretchen made a deal to release her next album "Brand New
:: Morning" with their fine assistance.
::
:: Gretchen went on to co-produce "Brand New Morning," with Greg
:: PorΘe. Featuring several collaborations with d.j. Cut Chemist
:: of Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli fame, BNM was one of Lakeshore
:: Record's best selling albums of 2002.
::
:: As a "Staff Recommended" artist at Hear Music and a "Staff
:: Favorite" artist at I-tunes, Gretchen's music began to
:: trickle down to the masses. Songs from her second release
:: "Brand New Morning" began topping the charts on Rhapsody.com
:: where her music did as well as Coldplay's or Eminem's albums
:: did on that site for months! Check out the interesting story
:: from USA Today @
:: http://usatoday.com/life/2003-02-25-rhapsody_x.htm about
:: that.
::
:: After placing several songs from this record on various TV
:: shows and movies including the popular WB program "Felicity"
:: and a slew of MTV shows, Gretchen then began the process of
