manchester uk based group bamboo soul have released three 10ö eps
on henry smithson's (a.k.a. riton of grand central records) switch
recordings that showcase their unique lo-fi sound fusing of jazz,
rock, hip-hop rhythms, vocals and quirky sampling techniques.
the band has been well received across the board with dj support
from gilles peterson and mr. scruff to london electricity and
laurent garnier. the track ôwinterlandö from their second ep was
recently featured on the last mystic brew compilation for fat city
recordings. the track "didi" off of their third ep is currently
featured on a rizla compilation. they have also remixed tracks for
both riton and the kings of convenience.
