oh. are 5 guys from germany doing their own thing in electronic
music. coming a long way from post rock backgrounds and
experimental electronica to become a powerful dancefloor live-band
the sound of the band has developed with the years of its
existence. while the first album ecu (1999, mdz / virgin) was
based on a rather experimental playground of sounds and
arrangements, the second album upper disker (2001, mdz / virgin)
takes a more structured approach adding a fair portion of funky
dancefloor temperament and dynamics without neglecting the charm
and playfulness of the debut lp. the recent output the unknown
stuntman (2004) on the berlin based label festplatten features
four-to-the-floor tracks played by a real band marking a new era
with oh. as one of the most impressive dancefloor "live-bands"
performing live-sets of 90mins non-stop in one piece and sweat
     dripping from those mirrorballs ;-)

most tracks are based on a frame of live drums and bassùas well as
machines of all kindsùwhile the large part of sounds is still
being produced by old school synthesizers (polysix, moog, solina).
expect no vocals but housy electro grooves and playful hooklines
to the point of believing youÆre in the middle of a computer game.
things have grown together over the years and as a band that is
very together and truly enjoys playing live, the focus has shifted
more and more towards the dancefloor as the center of interest.
meanwhile two members of the band have developed solo careers ...
with ron schneider aka raumagent alpha being one of the hottest
live-acts of this galaxy (releases on festplatten and dumb unit)
and phil stumpf producing for festplatten, tom bone, and lumina as
solo artist, as the duo duplex 100 (on treibstoff, initial cuts,
onitor) as well as hosting the party series minimal dancin at the
     nouveau casino in paris.
