Double Happiness has given the irrepressible Jimmy Barnes yet another number
one, platinum album.
And now he plans to crank it up a notch by launching his new single from Double
Happiness and at the very same time lauding the singing and writing talents of
eldest daughter, Mahalia Barnes.
And by his own admission, Mahalia has been a strong influence over the years.
ôSheÆs been right into rænÆb music which I didnÆt know a lot aboutö says Jimmy.
ôDÆAngelo. India Arie and people like that she has turned me on to.
As much as IÆve been pushing her towards heavy music and the dark side of the
Force, sheÆs had her own bands playing soul music.ö
ôYou start out thinking youÆre gonna teach your kids about music and they end up
teaching you!ö
Mahalia has been a part of JimmyÆs touring band for the past seven years or so
and for the last six to eight months Mahalia has been singing ôGonna Take Some
Timeö û a song she had written with former band mate, Jade McCrae.
