│ Collaborations can create concrete concepts. Dntel, known to │
│ friends and family as Jimmy Tamborello, releases his debut EP, │
│ in which he connects with vocal voyager Mia Doi Todd for a │
│ moving and touching, sometimes soothing, then haunting journey │
│ named 'Anyone anywhere'. As introduced by his contribution to │
│ the Voices in my Lunchbox compilation, Dntel adeptly combines │
│ voices, both computer and human. Experimenting with electronics │
│ since 1989, Dntel consistently displays the relationship between │
│ melodies and some of life's unexpected episodes. Two previous │
│ releases on the sonic stretching Phthalo Records label, Early │
│ Works For Me If It Works For You and Something Always Goes │
│ Wrong, demonstrate Dntel's appreciation for tragedy and its │
│ outcomes. Both collections feature tracks that date back to as │
│ far as 1994 and reveal his ability to weave tales utilizing │
│ moving melodies, tragic moments, and 'heroic' happenings. On │
│ this debut EP for Plug Research, Dntel combines his melancholic │
│ melodies with the mesmerizing voice of Mia Doi Todd. Mia Doi │
│ Todd has recently released her third LP, Zeroone, on her own │
│ label, City Zen. She has garnered a reputation of capturing │
│ rooms full of boisterous chatters with her unique approach to │
│ vocalization and vernacular. 'Anyone Anywhere' captures ears, │
│ hearts, and memories. A perfect companion to this track follows, │
│ 'This is how it will be all over'. An example of Dntel working │
│ with a guitar and incorporating it with his pursuit of emotions. │
│ Upon flipping the vinyl, Ubiquity Records' Nobody, whose album │
│ Soulmates has rightfully earned him a place in the world of │
│ forward thinking hip-hop, blurs the beat, twists the tones, and │
│ adds to the voluminous voyage. │
