Tom Bullock and Harvey's second 12" as Map Of Africa on Whatever We
Want is a sturdy follow-up to their debut. Riffing on The Equals'
1970 hit "Black Skinned Blue Eyed Boys" (an early 'disco' smash for
the likes of Francis Grasso & co from Eddy Grant's former band!),
MOA cross it with the fuzzy garage sound of The Stooges and Led
Zep's axe-wielding for a heavy disco garage rock footstomper
that'll blow the Marshall stacks over with a feedback swell and
drum breakdown combo. Again, the B-side couldn't be more different
- a soft padding instrumental tune that blends Air's prog-rock
leanings with an Eno electronic beat in what will surely become a
Balearic afternoon anthem. And just wait until that guitar solo
intrudes! Pure bliss.
