│ │
│ One of the prime cuts from Hebdon's recent 'Everything Ecstatic' │
│ LP, this limited-as-hens-teeth 12" features an absolute │
│ shit-load of remixes and rejigs, clocking in at a massive 8 │
│ tracks. Whacking the breaks into some serious rough-riding bass, │
│ 'A Joy' came across like a Shadow felling behemoth on first │
│ contact; a stature that has more than stood the test of time. │
│ Included here in its original state, the A side opens with the │
│ incendiary polemic of a Percee P rhyming over the original (in │
│ two parts no less!) and bringing a new level of urgency and │
│ gobby fortitude to the burbling electronic undertones. │
│ Folktronica my arse! With these new versions given the │
│ instrumental treatment and a stripped-down set of Koushik quick │
│ mixes, the A would be worth the cover price alone... There's │
│ more. With a B that opens with Four Tet's own 808 speckled remix │
│ and closes with a truly unmissable Battles remix, Hebdon has hit │
│ a rare seam of aural gold. Heavy Hevay and utterly unmissable - │
│ purchase immediately to avoid dissapointment! │
