THE GARDEN ZADAR
'The Garden' is a beautiful and spacious outdoor venue located on the ancient
Venetian walls of Zadar, a town on the Croatian Adriatic coast. After finding
the derelict grounds whilst on holiday from the UK, Nick Colgan and James Brown
(drummer in UB 40) decided to bring back to life a very special place. With it's
stunning historical location and over 2500 sqm overlooking the town harbour it
is simply one of the most beautiful locations in the world. The unique
atmosphere is a result of the club's modern design combined with the historical
architecture and unique landscape. Guests can relax on beds or the 30m seating
structure, in the shade of old trees while watching the boats sail by and
listening to the music. Throughout the last summer season various international
DJ's spun their magic in 'The Garden', bringing a multicultural and
multidimensional musical experience to Zadar. The guests constantly asked for
their sets to be recorded on CD. So this is why we have put together this
special compilation. All tracks used are previously unreleased and the majority
are influenced by and produced especially for 'The Garden'. In addition to two
Fila Brazillia tracks it also includes two brand new tracks by DUB SPECIMEN - a
UB40 offshoot project consisting of James Brown (co-owner of the Garden club)
and Earl Falconer, UB40's bass player!
'The Garden Volume 1' is the first in a new series and has been mixed by one of
our very special guests - Steve Cobby of Fila Brazillia.
